Apple Crumble

2 Weet-Bix®
1 cup self-raising flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons skim milk
3 tablespoons (45g) Flora® Light margarine melted
1 x 800g can pie apple (unsweetened)

Method

Preheat oven to 180ºC fan forced.

  1. Crush Weet-Bix finely in a medium size mixing bowl. Add sifted flour, sugar and cinnamon and combine.
  2. Add milk to melted margarine then add to mix and fold together. Use your hands to get the crumble texture.
  3. Place pie apple in base of a casserole dish (8 cup capacity) then sprinkle crumble mixture over apple. Bake 40-45 minutes or until crumble is golden brown.

Suitable to be frozen.

Dietitian's tip

Weet-Bix and apples provide added fibre to this low GI dessert. Serve with a small scoop of low fat ice-cream.
