What’s my ideal weight?

There are many schools of thought when it comes to ‘ideal weight’. Some are so unrealistic it’s not funny.

For years I have searched for a calculator that would give a realistic indication of ideal weight, and I’ve finally found one that I am happy to use with my program.

There will always be exceptions to any calculator as they don’t take into account exceptional circumstances.

For example healthy weight range calculations tend to be:

  • Lower for people of Asian background
  • Higher for those of Polynesian origin
  • Higher for older people
  • Higher for elite athletes with higher than normal levels of lean body tissue
