Fish has some amazing health benefits and for anyone trying to lose weight you can’t go wrong if you include several fish meals a week into your diet.
Loaded with Omega 3’s and low in fat fish is something we should have more often. Fish is quite versatile – you can bake, grill or even barbeque; served with salad or veg it makes a quick easy meal.
Here are three easy steps for perfect fish:
- When selecting fish, look for fillets with firm flesh, a fresh sea scent; also ask if they are boneless.
- Seafood should be consumed within two days of purchase. Avoid cross contamination by always storing raw seafood separate to any other meat or vegetables.
- Don’t overcook fish as it spoils the flavour. There is nothing worse than a dry piece of fish so only cook for 2 or 3 minutes each side then test. Fish should flake easily with a fork when cooked properly.
