Three tips for perfect fish

Fish has some amazing health benefits and for anyone trying to lose weight you can’t go wrong if you include several fish meals a week into your diet.

Loaded with Omega 3’s and low in fat fish is something we should have more often. Fish is quite versatile – you can bake, grill or even barbeque; served with salad or veg it makes a quick easy meal.

Here are three easy steps for perfect fish:

  1. When selecting fish, look for fillets with firm flesh, a fresh sea scent; also ask if they are boneless.
  2. Seafood should be consumed within two days of purchase. Avoid cross contamination by always storing raw seafood separate to any other meat or vegetables.
  3. Don’t overcook fish as it spoils the flavour. There is nothing worse than a dry piece of fish so only cook for 2 or 3 minutes each side then test. Fish should flake easily with a fork when cooked properly.
