How can I drink 8 glasses of water on cold days?

“Drinking water is like taking a shower on the inside of your body”

Before I became a healthy person, I thought water was something to be added to scotch 😊 Drinking water didn’t come naturally to me, I had to train myself to embrace this habit.

Yes, even though the days are cooler, we still need to be aiming at eight glasses of water a day. So, how can you make sure this happens?

Here are a few simple things I did, that might help you drink your daily quota

  • Fill a two-litre jug with water each morning so you know exactly how much water you’re drinking each day
  • Drink a glass of warm water with lemon first thing each morning, before your morning cup of tea or coffee
  • Choose to drink water rather than soft drink or juice
  • Always take a bottle of water with you wherever you go
  • Include herbal teas in your water count – yes teas such as peppermint, lemon & ginger or chamomile count towards your daily intake

There are lots of benefits to drinking your eight glasses a day

  1. Helps regulate body temperature
  2. Moistens tissues such as those in the mouth, eyes and nose
  3. Lubricates joints
  4. Protects body organs and tissues
  5. Helps keep bowel movements regular
  6. Supports the kidneys and liver by helping to flush out waste
  7. Carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells
  8. Helps increase your metabolism

So, make sure you’re drinking your eight glasses of water a day; your body will thank you for it.
