I was so touched to hear about a beautiful young girl called Jemma, who was diagnosed with cancer while on holiday in Brisbane with her family in January and the family haven't been home to Cairns since. Renee (Mum), Josh (Dad) and Jai (big brother) have relocated to Brisbane as Jemma continues to have treatment to fight this cruel disease and will be here for at least another year. To date, Jemma has had 6 bouts of chemotherapy, untold blood & platelet transfusions and operations to remove tumours from behind her eye and stomach and has lost a kidney.

Jemma is an absolute inspiration, for such a sick little girl, there isn't a photo of her without the brightest of smiles on her beautiful little face - a true reflection of her fighting spirit!  Read more >

On Monday 11th of July I was fortunate enough to meet the amazing Simon McKeon, Social Entrepreneur and 2011 Australian of the Year. Simon's story was very inspiring and we had a lovely chat at the end of his presentation. Simon loves supporting the community and great charities like World Vision Australia in which he continues to be involved with the Global Poverty Project and Red Dust Role Models, which works with remote Indigenous communities.
